Young Writers' Camp 8-day @ Cardiff Elem. | YWC 2025

Campers will experiment with different genres of writing for a variety of audiences and purposes.

Participating Young Writers:

• are challenged to grow and build self-confidence as writers.
• write in an environment designed to inspire creativity.
• receive individual attention in small groups from SDAWP writing teachers.
• meet and share writing in a multi-age classroom with young writers from throughout the county.
• engage in process writing: drafting, writing, revising, editing and publishing.
• publish and receive an anthology, including writing from each camper.
• develop writing skills as tools for self-expression.

Cost is $650. Eventbrite service fees included, $50 non-refundable processing fee included. The last day to request a partial refund for this camp is June 9, 2025.

Note: If you are considering registering your child for this camp, please only do so if they can commit to attending all 8 days. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but if you know in advance that your child will not be able to attend all 8 days, we kindly ask that you leave room for those who can. This way, we can offer the most consistent and valuable experience for all participants. Thank you for your cooperation.

What is a class/group? Camp will consist of up to 24 students grades 3-8 (3 classes seprated by grade levels, 3-4, 5-6, & 7-8) and facilitated by a team of SDAWP credentialed writing teachers and teaching assistants.

What materials will I need? All materials will be provided.
